The ambiance is amazing. I enjoyed the uptempo but subtle music; no lyrics, just beats. The tiled floors were eye catching. I felt like I time warped into another era. Food was fantastic. Appetizer was scrumptious. We shared the Fritto misto. It was a mixture of different deep fried items: calamari, seasonal vegetables, & lemon. First time I had a deep fried battered lemon. Very tasty, when you dip it into the Calabrian aioli sauce. I had the minestrone soup. It was great for the cold day in San Francisco. Backed up with a wedge salad that was crisp and delicious. For main course, I had the buttery half chicken with arugula and roasted red potatoes. That chicken is to die for. It was really savory with the red potatoes and arugula for balance. My Brother let me taste the skirt steak and polenta that he had. The steak was medium rare with the red wine sauce. That paired up very well with the fried polenta. First time I had tasted a fried polenta. That was an experience within itself. I asked my Brother, "Are you eating tofu?" He replied, "Try it". I tasted both of them together. The red wine sauce made them melt together. We were both happy with our choices. The service was amazing. Seated fast and given menus. The waiter was very knowledgeable of the details in the dishes. He helped us pick out items. I noticed the Bartender was very hospitable to the guest @ the bar. The host was very polite to me and my Brother. When going to a nice restaurant, it is the staff that makes a big difference for me. They were all working together as a team. This is very rare to see these days. I will be back, because they made the cold foggy San Francisco Sunday feel like sunny Sunday. I left the restaurant feeling like a millionaire. This place is a gem. I'm still blown away by the experience. I almost forgot to talk about going to the bathroom. Going to the bathroom, you go through the hotel. The lobby was breath taking. They had a well decorated lounge area with a fire place & crystal chandeliers. I noticed people in big plush chairs warming by the fire. Looked nice. When I exited the bathroom, I saw the other room that looked like a mansion library out of the Great Gatsby. I felt like I was in that era. This place has great detail for a hotel in San Francisco. I have to come back for the dessert. We were stuffed and left no room for dessert.

I'll be honest, the experience was really nice. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which was awesome. The service was fast and respectful. It's a nice looking restaurant and that appears to be in the lobby of the Marker hotel. I would definitely return...,

Hubby and I like to try different restaurants when we visit San Francisco and decided to give Tratto a try! The service was very spotty but when someone did take our order, we ordered the Fritto Misto and a Pizza with house made Italian sausage, fresh mozzarella, onion jam and fennel pollen. The food was very good and had very good flavor. The restaurant, located in a hotel is very nice. The service was the only bad thing about eating here.

pizza is a bit too doughy for my taste while I generally prefer a little more crispier/crunchier bite. made reservation 2 hours in advance and it was hassle free, the restaurant did looked very full. presentation is great, nice modern interior/atmosphere. definitely a place that is pushing for their wine but the over all vibe is also good for family. gnocchi has good flavor but slightly on the soggy side of the al dente scale. salad was light and just the right amount of flavor. attractive staff!

I've been here before, back when Harry Potter was running at the theater, but that was years ago and all I remembered was the great proximity to the theater, and a solid affogato. I'm so glad we came here again, before seeing Without You. Drinks: White Negroni- not for me but I'm also not a Negroni girl Tratto spritz- boozy Italian soda pretty much. Tasty. Margherita pizza- perfectly what it's supposed to be Polenta fries- I crave these daily since we went. These are absolutely heavenly. Texture, flavor, temperature, perfection. Chicken thighs/ probably my least favorite thing we got, well cooked chicken that just tasted like lemon pretty much. Fine but overshadowed by the polenta. Service was great and understood our timeline for getting to the theater. I'll now look forward to going to shows even more knowing that I'll stop here for dinner first!

This restaurant was down the street from our hotel and as I was walking by it caught my eye so we stopped in for some dessert and a night cap. We decided to sit at the bar and the bartender was super attentive and friendly. They had a projector playing an old black/white Italian classic featuring Sophia Loren. Pretty cool ambiance for a little date night. Best Tiramisu I've ever had and the donuts were just as delicious!
